With heartfelt harmony singing, driving rhythms, and masterful picking, the band honors the greats: The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and beyond, while weaving in the influence of innovators like J.D. Crowe, Hot Rize, and The Johnson Mountain Boys. Their sets are rich with history, tradition, and a love for the music that runs deep.
Not limited to bluegrass standards alone, Mission Blue also reimagines classic country hits, folk ballads, and timeless tunes with their own distinct voice. Based in Northern California, they perform across regional venues and festivals in California and Oregon, appearing in formats from an intimate duet to a full traditional five-piece band. Wherever they play, Mission Blue carries the soul of bluegrass into today’s world with authenticity and heart.
