About the event
BLUE MONDAYS PROJAM features Bay Area harp player Aki Kumar, one of the Bay Area’s most accomplished blues musicians — with several albums to his credit and a growing number of fans. Championed by Bay Area guitar whiz Kid Andersen, Kumar built a strong local reputation playing traditional blues, while not buying into the immutability of that tradition. Blending Bollywood and blues, Aki has made a name for himself, internationally, and has filled two albums with the stuff (alongside originals, some straight-ahead blues, a foray into ska-soul-jazz with “Watermelon Man” and other twists): Aki Goes to Bollywood and his current Hindi Man Blues. https://www.akikumar.com.
