About the event
Everybody written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins
Directed by Skylar Evans
"A fascinating and funny riff on the traditional morality play Everyman, Everybody charts one person’s quest to understand the meaning of life. Along the way, they come across some familiar characters, including Friendship, Kinship, Stuff, Mind, Five Senses and Understanding, before facing the ultimate and inevitable encounter with Death.
Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ highly inventive script includes an on-stage lottery at the start of each performance to determine which actors will play some of the key roles. Symbolizing the randomness of death, this last-minute twist brings an exciting edge of unpredictability to every show.
The critically acclaimed Everybody earned playwright Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins (Gloria, An Octoroon) his second nomination for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama (2018)."
